Celebrating Kindness and Inclusivity at Cowbridge School

Over the past two weeks, our fantastic Sixth Form students have been spreading positivity and understanding throughout the Cowbridge community. They led a series of assemblies for Years 7 to 12, focusing on raising awareness of disabilities—both visible and hidden. Their message was clear and heartfelt: kindness, empathy, and support make a world of difference to those living with any form of disability.

In addition to their inspiring assemblies, our Sixth Formers also spent time in the lower school, where they introduced Reception and Year 2 pupils to Makaton sign language. The younger pupils were full of enthusiasm as they learned new signs and discovered how communication can be made more inclusive for everyone.

We are incredibly proud of our students for championing understanding, compassion, and inclusion across the school. Their dedication is helping to create a community where every individual is recognised, supported, and celebrated.

Christmas Jumpers With a Meaning at Cowbridge School!

To help raise disability awareness this festive season, many of our wonderful pupils took part in our annual Christmas Jumper Day. This year, the theme carried a special message: every jumper tells a story, just as every disability is unique.

The school was filled with colour and creativity—everything from classic Christmas knits to Star Wars-themed jumpers, and even plenty of Lidl-inspired designs that brought smiles all round! Each one helped spark conversations and remind us of the importance of understanding and celebrating our differences.

We are incredibly grateful to all our pupils for their enthusiasm and support. Their participation not only raised awareness, but also highlighted the warm, empathetic community we are so proud of here at Cowbridge School.
