Meningococcal B Vaccination
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is offering a free MenB (Meningococcal B) vaccination to young people born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008.
Meningococcal group B bacteria can cause serious and rapidly progressing infections, including meningitis and septicaemia. Vaccination is the most effective way to reduce the risk of these infections.
Eligible young people will receive an appointment letter from Cardiff and Vale UHB. Vaccination clinics will be held at Maelfa Wellbeing Hub, Barry Hospital and Riverside Health Centre. Two doses are required to ensure full protection.
Please refer to the attached poster for further information. If you believe your child is eligible but does not receive an appointment letter, please contact the Cardiff and Vale UHB Vaccination Team on 02921 841234.
