Cowbridge Students Shine at Welsh Young Singer of the Year Final

We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding success of four Cowbridge students who reached the final round of the prestigious Dunraven Welsh Young Singer of the Year Competition, held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) on Sunday, 7th June 2026.

Competing against talented young singers from across Wales, our students delivered exceptional performances and represented the school with distinction.

In the 11–14 age category, Jena (Year 9) was crowned the winner with her performance of “I Know Where I’ve Been” from Hairspray and “Pulled” from The Addams Family. 

The 15–18 category was an all-Cowbridge final, with Felicity (Year 10), Emmie (Year 10) and Isobel (Year 13) all securing places. After a highly competitive contest, Felicity was awarded first place.

We are exceptionally proud of all four students. Their hard work, musical talent and professionalism were evident throughout the competition, and they did both themselves and Cowbridge proud.
