From Classroom to Career: The New "Growth and Skills" Era

This week’s theme ‘High attendance prepares students for college, apprenticeships, and work’ couldn't be more timely. With the official launch of the Growth and Skills Levy this past month, the landscape for our leavers has shifted. Just yesterday, reports from the Global Skills Forum (April 30, 2026) highlighted a fascinating trend: in our increasingly AI-driven economy, employers are placing a massive premium on "human-centric reliability."

While tech can handle the data, it can’t replace the person who consistently shows up, engages, and collaborates. The "Showing Up" Habit is Your Child’s Best Asset:

  • Professional Reputation: Employers view attendance records as a "reliability transcript." High attendance tells them a student is "work-ready" before they even interview.
  • Stamina for Success: Transitioning to college or a 9-to-5 job is a marathon. Maintaining a 95%+ attendance rate now builds the "occupational stamina" needed to thrive.

By prioritising attendance today, we are ensuring our students are first in line for the exciting opportunities 2026 has to offer. Let’s help them build a reputation for being the person who can be counted on!
