Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Lessons from the Six Nations

Attendance Matters: Lessons from the World Stage

This past Saturday, sports fans across the country were glued to their screens for the dramatic finale of the Six Nations. Whether you were cheering for England, Wales, Ireland, Italy, France or Scotland, the message was clear: victory isn't about a single star player. It’s about the "invisible" work—the months of daily training, communication, and trust built through being present every single day.

At our school, we see the classroom as our own "pitch." This week, we are highlighting how teamwork skills grow through regular participation. When students attend consistently, they don't just learn facts; they learn how to navigate group dynamics, lead peers, and solve problems together. Missing a day isn't just missing a lesson; it’s missing a "practice session" for life.

It is a striking thought that children attend school for only 190 days a year. While that might feel like a lot when the morning alarm goes off, it represents just 52% of the full calendar year. With nearly half the year spent away from the classroom, every one of those 190 days is a vital opportunity to strengthen those social muscles. Let’s make every day count and keep our team at full strength!
