Celebrating World Book Day at Cowbridge School

We are thrilled to announce that Cowbridge School will be joining the global celebration of World Book Day next Thursday, 5 March. At Cowbridge, we are incredibly keen to foster a lifelong love of reading, and we have curated a week of engaging activities designed to spark imagination and a passion for literature across all year groups.

Throughout the day on Thursday, students can participate in a variety of exciting events:

  • The Big Book Quiz: Testing literary knowledge across genres.
  • Golden Ticket Hunt: A school-wide search for hidden prizes.
  • Blind Date with a Book: Encouraging students to step outside their comfort zone and choose a story based on a short description rather than a cover.
  • The Great Book Swap: A chance for students to refresh their personal libraries.

To make our Book Swap a success, we are asking for your support. If you have any books at home suitable for readers aged 4 to 18 that your family has finished with, we would be incredibly grateful for your donations. These experiences are a vital part of building our school's reading culture.

Please send any donated books in with your child on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week. We look forward to a fantastic day celebrating the power of stories together!
