Apprenticeship Opportunities – January 2026

Please see some updates regarding current apprentice opportunities with British Airways, Sony and Renishaw.

British Airways
As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2026, we’re hosting a free online webinar for parents and carers who want to better understand apprenticeships and how they can support their child’s next steps after school or college. We know that parents often turn to schools for guidance when it comes to post-16 and post-18 options, so we’d really like to share this opportunity with families.

The 60-minute webinar is designed specifically for parents and will cover:
•    What apprenticeships are and how they work
•    The different apprenticeship levels, including degree apprenticeships
•    Common myths about apprenticeships and the reality
•    Real success stories from British Airways apprentices
•    How apprenticeships help young people develop skills and progress into meaningful careers

The session is informative rather than heavily interactive, making it accessible for parents who want clear, practical information.

APPLICATIONS FOR OUR 2026 APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME ARE NOW OPEN

Click Here to complete our online Application Form. The deadline to apply is 15 February 2026.
Our apprenticeship programme is a 3 to 4-year commitment (depending on your discipline). During this period, you will learn and develop various skills and knowledge through on-site work placements within a manufacturing environment. Throughout the programme, you will also study for nationally recognised qualifications at Cardiff and Vale College or Bridgend College in South Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to join a fast-paced, exciting working environment while developing their skills and qualifications further.

The programme is designed to provide each apprentice with a combination of work experience and learning opportunities across the business each year.

This year, we have opportunities in the following areas:
•    Electronic/Electrical Engineering
•    Software Engineering
•    Software/Electronic Engineering

What we can offer:
•    The opportunity to work towards a Higher Apprenticeship Qualification, such as HNC/HND, during your time here, among other role-specific qualifications
•    Access to discounted Sony products
•    Generous company pension scheme offering employer contributions of up to 14%
•    The potential to receive a target-related annual bonus

Application criteria
•    A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including a B or above in Mathematics, and Cs or above in Science and English. Other relevant subjects such as Business Studies, Design & Technology, Information Technology or Engineering would be an advantage.
