At Cowbridge School, we believe that strong numeracy skills are vital for academic success and for navigating everyday life with confidence. Numeracy goes beyond the classroom – it equips students with the ability to solve problems, make informed decisions, and apply logical thinking in a wide range of real-world situations. Developing excellent numeracy skills helps students succeed across all subjects, while also preparing them for future education, training, and careers.
Parents and carers play a key role in supporting this journey. Simple, everyday activities such as discussing money and budgeting, cooking with measurements, practising times tables, or exploring patterns and puzzles can all strengthen the numeracy skills learnt in school. Encouraging a positive attitude towards maths and celebrating progress also helps build resilience and confidence.
